What is Official Business Account

An official business account means that the WhatsApp account has been verified to be owned by a real and notable brand. If a WhatsApp account is an official business account, a blue check mark will appear next to the display name in the contact view.

Authentication preconditions

To be eligible for Official Business Account(OBA), the following criteria must be met:

• The business must comply with the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy⁠ (opens new window).
• The business must be registered on the WhatsApp Business Platform for at least 30 days.
• The business represents a notable, well-known, and frequently searched for business, brand, or entity.
• The business portfolio that owns the number has been verified through Business Verification⁠.
• The business phone number has enabled two-step verification.
• The business phone number’s display name has been approved.

If you meet the above criteria but find that the application option in the WhatsApp Manager (opens new window) is unclickable, please contact your Delivery or Service Manager to verify whether your BM account is eligible for the process.
